Thinking Question #4

What do you think the football conditions would be like back in the 50's?

We think that it would be alot different because they wouldnt have the same things that we have in these days, like work out ficilitys,the grass was different because it would probably get muddy. The football pads and helmets were less protective we think because they didnt have face mask like we do now. Our conditions for football now have really changed and up graded through out the years.

Couple of the "aggies" ran away from Junction early in the morning and went to the bus station. They took the first bus out. The SWC press visited the "aggies" and coach Bryant. The press noticed that they lost one of thier most valuable player (according to them). The press had a thoery that they will have a bad season. Joe Boring hurt his knee and eventually quit. Dust storm came and took out some players. Billy Schroeder passed out and went to the hospital and was diagnosed with heat stroke and barley survived. He had to be out for the season and quit. The story told how Bear Bryant grew up in tough situations.

Texas A&M football season goes undeafeated along with Baylor. Coach "Bear" Bryant says that if he would stop coaching he would croach. He dies 28 days after he stopped coaching. When they tell all the players John Crow says " I feel like i just lost my father". More than 10,000 mourneres either stood in the church or stood outside in the misty rain. The procession covered 55 miles along interstate 59, more than a 100,000 people attended. Gov. George Wallace ordered that all flags be flown at half staff. Bear Bryant won 6 national championships and 323 games.
